Always a joy to volunteer at the EC SDHS campus. Staff is lovely and pets are well taken care of. Even the local community kitty is pampered. :)

Found my new best friend here. I wasn't looking for a puppy but this guy melted my heart. 100% recommend adopting from a shelter. So many wonderful animals need a loving home.

The El cajon branch of the humane society was very kind to me. They gave me some dog food, toys, and a dog bed because I wasn't able to afford them at the store at this time!!! Love you guys and thank you again I truly appreciated it and always will be!!

We went to get our dog his rabbies vaccine, and we were in and out in about 3 minutes. The vets were super nice and were able to get my certification right away. Worth the drive.

My husband and I adopted a cat from this facility, and about 2 weeks later we realized he was infested with fleas from the shelter. When calling to inform them about this, they said they’re aware that the cats have fleas and there’s nothing to be done about it. They’re just sending flea infested animals out to homes. My secondary concern is the health of the animals in this facility, as they have a pretty open secret about every animal being infested with fleas but they have absolutely no desire to address or fix the issue. I now have to spend my time and money to go through the hassle of disinfecting my house and quarantining my area that is potentially dangerous to not only myself, but my unborn child, as fleas can carry some serious diseases. Thanks so much!

I'm a foster with the humane society and have to go the shelter now and again. I would say that it always seems adequately staffed and the animals seem to be in good condition. Overall. They also try to place a good majority of their animals in foster homes so that they can have a normal home experience.

I wanted to adopt a kitten for Christmas so I went down to my local SDHS branch. I had already completed my online forms so I was in and out with my new kitten in only half an hour. I got to hold her and hear all about her. She's already spayed, had all her vaccinations, and is dewormed ! It's an easy, wonderful way to get a forever pet .
